It’s good to know they listen to us! After all we are on track to become the largest telecom market in the world overtaking USA.
Finally, the iPhone is coming to India. In it’s brand new avatar, of course. the 3G iPhone is being brought to India by Airtel. Apple and Airtel have forged a partnership in this regard:
“We are delighted with the opportunity to bring the innovative iPhone 3G to India,” said Bharti Airtel President and CEO Manoj Kohli.
“We are thrilled to be working with Bharti Airtel, India’s leading integrated telecom company, to bring iPhone 3G to millions of mobile customers in India,” said Apple’s COO Tim Cook.
Interestingly though, I had read earlier in May that it was Vodafone which had forged a global partnership with Apple to carry the iPhone in countries where it operates except the UK.
Seems like Vodafone has lost this one out!
