You know it’s funny that while researching the vestigial tail that I saw on Jason Alexandar’s character in the movie, Shallow Hal, I came across an article that outlines strange and rare congenital defects and/or abnormailities.

It really is a surprising sight I must say. But, the fact that these conditions really do exist out there is enough to convince us to thank the Creator for making us what we are.

It is the fourth day of the holy month of Ramadan and I have completed 4 fast as of today. It is Thursday and that is when the weekend starts here in Saudi. I have two days off during the weekend. I haven’t been able to describe about the previous 2 days, but they have been the same. With my body adjusting with the routine of the fasts, I have finally managed to stop myself from fainting due to exhaustion. Avoid extra exertions that’s what the mantra is.

BTW, I just broke my fast at sunset and was relaxing before I decided to write about the happenings on the blog. There was a sand storm going on right before the sunset. It is quite nasty and has made us stay indoors.

I did go for the evening (Isha) prayers and came back after finishing the Tarawih prayers (which are extra prayers during the month of Ramadan and are prayed right after Isha).

The debut movie of maverick director Farhan Akhtar (in which he has a starring role) ,Rock On!!, has connected well with the youths and the multiplex audience of the nation. The other movies released along side it have, however, failed to convince people to buy the ticket.

C Kkompany has had a better faring that Chamku which incidently didn’t even manage to stay in theaters for more than 3 days. Both the movies have bombed badly!

ROCK ON!! did exceptional over the weekend at all major centres and Monday onwards, centres like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bangalore reported 70% + occupancy, while mini-metros has been 30%-40%, which is favourable as well. Yes, single screens aren’t encouraging, but the business at plexes more than compensates it.

All this points to the fact that Farhan Akhtar has arrived. As an actor!

Well, for once, I never thought that the happenings as described fictionally in the Samuel Jackson thriller, “Snakes On A Plane”, would ever come true. Well, until now. Just as I was viewing news on Times Of India’s website, I came across this article called, Snake on An Air India Plane which describes the strange incident as follows:

Crew on an Air India passenger jet discovered a snake coiled up under a seat and were unable to catch it as it slithered around the plane, the airline said on Thursday.

The snake was disturbed during a routine check on the Air India A319 aircraft, which had landed at Delhi airport after a domestic flight from Srinagar.

I believe the next thing we are going to see now is Horses On a Galloping plane. Right?

Well, I got the chrome today and so must have many of you out there. I am just finished installing it on my laptop (it is a web installer) and have imported settings from Firefox. As I write this post from Chrome itself, I feel the browser needs a lot of testing before we come to any kind of conclusion.

As for the Fox fans, there’s nothing called plugins in Chrome (for that added functionality) so do not waste time in finding similarities between the two browsers.

I must mention here that my days with IE8 Beta2 are really great. Microsoft has really done a great makeover of it’s browser. What with all the new functionalities and all. This time IE8 has really taken the lead with innovation (with Chrome following it in some features).

Choose your browser carefully while I still stick to my Fox and test the rest.

Ever since Google announced (by mistake I guess) that they are launching there own browser called Chrome, there’s been a lot of buzz. It was expected to be launched on 2nd September 2008, Tuesday (yeah you tell me when Tuesday will come??? Of course, today is tuesday!).

I tried searching for a download link for Chrome on Google, and found out that there was in fact a website for Chrome at (http://gears.google.com/chrome) (don’t bother following that link, it’s dead). Apparently, after the Chrome comic book leak posted at Blogoscoped.com, Google took the Chrome site down and postponed the launch to 3rd of September.

All this has caused a lot of chromefusion, oops!, I mean confusion. So, I finally decided that in the end I should sit back and wait for the link to appear and for the browser to be made available for download on major sites like Download.com and Softpedia.com before I go hunting for it. Or maybe, I will try it one more time tomorrow??

I don’t know. But, whatever happens I love Firefox and plan to stick with it.

So, Google has finally made public it’s browser called Chrome :

As you may have read in the blogosphere, we hit “send” a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome. We will be launching the beta version of Google Chrome tomorrow in more than 100 countries.

It is the first day of my fasting as the holy month of Ramadan has started here. Since, it is the first day, the day seems like a year. Each hour that passes is like a day! Since we have to fast (which means not eating or drinking anything all through the day. Right from sunrise to sunset), I can feel myself a little wanting but not as much as I used to feel that constant binging while I was not fasting.

Seriously, it looks as if I have been able to control my urge to eat. My hunger is gone. Of course, it will be back right before sunset when we are ready to break our fast. Till then, it is peaceful.

Since I will be visiting the Holy Mosque in Makkah, I would be breaking my fast there and hence, I will not be talking about what I would be having in the evening for breaking my fast!

Yesterday night was quite hectic for me, I must admit. Even though, I had planned to go for shopping to stock up for the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan, everything (as usual) didn’t go as planned. Then, I couldn’t speak with my fiancee’ and I had to just say the hellos and go off.

In the evening, I headed off to the nearest hypermarket called Panda and started my session. Every single parking spot in the market was occupied and there was no scope of finding a spot close to the entrance of the market. So we went with the car to the last available spot at the fag end of the market.

Microsoft has released Beta 2 of the upcoming Internet Explorer 8. This is a wider beta release of the browser which has many improvements over Beta 1. It has features which were introduced by Firefox 3 a long time ago (well not exactly a loooong time ago but yes before IE8).
